Deer Antler

We use Scottish Red Deer Antler.  Deer shed their antlers every year, then grow a completely new set.  This shedding procedure takes two to three weeks to complete, while the regeneration takes an entire summer to complete before the cycle starts all over again.

Antlers are made up of honeycombed bone-like tissue with the outer layer being harder.  As a deer matures, the antlers will lengthen and thicken.

Antler can vary in colour from light brown to dark brown and no two pieces of antler look the same.
